J. Manning & Associates/LTCI Partners is an independent brokerage firm that specializes in employer-sponsored group long-term care insurance solutions for employee benefits brokers, financial services professionals and employer groups.
They focus on the mid-large market (500 – 50,000+ employees) working with a wide variety of insurance carriers that either offer or do not offer self-service online enrollment for their clients.
Our team worked in SCRUM format with J.Manning and the team composition was the following:
Some years ago in order to bridge the technological gap, JMA/LTCIP built a functional online enrollment portal to unify the carriers’ efforts of attending their clients.
Teravision was selected to apply our quality assurance practices on the current portal and fix their bugs. Once done, the job was to build a multi-carrier/multi-product self-serve online enrollment platform to get the employee from start to finish as quickly and as smoothly as possible.
A challenge came up during the gathering of user stories: deep business rules and the all-in-one interfaces of the system made it difficult to create a comprehensive information architecture.

Due to the mentioned difficulties, assigning an experienced product owner was crucial for the success of the development process. Once assigned, the general objective was to simplify the current workflow and software presentation into a well structured and smooth experience.
